We were thrilled in November to win the first ever Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire bridal Hairstylist of the year award at the Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire wedding awards.
We attended the ceremony at Tewinbury farm and were delighted when our name was called out, especially as the other entries in the category were *so* good.
Vanessa and the team Main Event Weddings did such a spectacular job of creating a magical atmosphere at Tewinbury for the event .
As category winners we were invited to take part in shoot for Absolute Bridal magazine where Adam and Masako attended the gorgeous Pendley Manor hotel in the Hertfordshire countryside and spent the day styling a professional model along with our good friend Sam from beautifully you make up taking care of models gorgeous face. There was a stunning gown by Cinderella Rose Bridal Boutique, flowers by Maples Flowers and some wonderful cakes by Layers and Graces (which we were lucky enough to try!)
Photography was shot by the wonderful Helen Weir Photography who was just so friendly and would surely put any bride and groom at ease on their big day.
For Hair we opted for two looks for the day which we find is becoming quite common now for brides on their wedding day Weddings.
The first look was a half up half down look, (styled using GHD heat protector, the GHD CURVE, R+Co Chiffon and R+Co Bleu Featherlight Hairspray) and we chose this to elongate and accentuate the length of the models beautiful hair and make us of the lower back of the gown. The hair was pulled sleekly away from the face with a little bit of height added but the main emphasis being on the gorgeous length. The style would have allowed for the addition of a veil but we decided to not add one as we didn’t want to draw attention away from the beautiful Hair and Make Up. Instead the Stylist accessorised the Bride with jewellery from Jodie Gearing Bespoke Jewellery.
For the outdoor shots (as the weather was not on our side) we decided to pin the lengths up to join the rest of the hair, because we had prepared the hair using R+Co’s s Chiffon Mousse, the hair had a lot of great texture whilst retaining its integrity which allowed us to pin the hair into the desired style very easily.
We really enjoy creating two looks on a wedding day particularly for reasons such as dancing, photos and the brides comfort. Keeping their hair pinned up and out of the way ensures it retains shape, looks elegant and could withstand any conditions that may be encountered!
